Create a Persona
Learn how to create and configure a new AI persona in just a few minutes. This guide walks through each step of the persona creation process in your MyClone dashboard.
Before You Start
Before creating your persona, make sure you have:
- ✅ An active MyClone account
- ✅ A clear purpose for your persona (support, sales, education, etc.)
- ⏱️ 5-10 minutes to complete setup
💡 Tip: You can create multiple personas for different purposes. For example, one for customer support and another for sales conversations. Learn more about persona types.
Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1: Access Your Dashboard
- Log in to the dashboard
- Click the “Personas” on the left navigation bar and click ”+ New Persona”
You’ll see any existing personas listed here. Each persona operates independently with its own knowledge base and settings.
Step 2: Name Your Persona
Choose a descriptive name that reflects the persona’s purpose:
Good examples:
- “Acme Lead Capture”
- “Product Onboarding Guide”
- “My Clone Support” (as shown in the video)
Naming tips:
- ✅ Use clear, descriptive names
- ❌ Avoid generic names like “Persona 1”
Step 3: Define Your Persona’s Expertise
Specify what your persona specializes in. This helps guide the AI’s responses.
Examples:
- “Sales conversations, product demos, and pricing discussions”
- “Marketing expertise and content strategy”
What to include:
- Primary area of expertise
- Specific topics covered
- Type of interactions (support, sales, education)
ℹ️ Note: You don’t need to write a detailed description here - keep it concise. The AI will learn your style and detailed knowledge from the content you add later.
Step 4: Select a Voice
Choose a voice for your persona from the available options. This determines how your persona sounds during voice interactions.
How to choose:
- Browse the available voices
- Preview each voice (if available)
- Select the one that best matches your persona’s style
💡 Tip: You can change the voice later if needed. Choose one that fits your brand or personal style.
Step 5: Add Knowledge Sources (Optional)
You can optionally attach knowledge sources during persona creation, or skip this step and add knowledge later.
Knowledge types you can add:
- 📄 Documents - FAQs, guides, product documentation
- 🎥 Videos - Training videos, demos, presentations
- 🔗 URLs - LinkedIn profiles, websites, blog posts
- 📝 Text - Custom content and information

Step 6: Create & Access Your Persona
- Click “Create” or “Save” to finalize your persona
- You’ll receive a unique endpoint URL for your persona
- Use this URL to interact with or share your persona
Your persona endpoint:
https://app.myclone.is/your-user-name/your-persona-name
This is the link you’ll use to:
- Test conversations with your persona
- Share with others (if public)
- Embed on your website
- Integrate with other tools

Once created, your persona is ready to use! Here’s what you can do:
