Test and interact with your AI persona to verify it responds accurately and sounds like you. Your persona supports voice conversations, text chat, file attachments, and downloadable transcripts.

Quick Start: Your First Conversation

After creating your persona, you’re ready to test it. Here’s how to access and start chatting:

Step 1: Access Your Persona

From your dashboard, you have two ways to open your persona:

Option 1: View Live Button

  1. Go to your Personas dashboard
  2. Find the persona you want to test
  3. Click “View Live” button
  4. Your persona page opens in a new tab

Option 2: Copy URL

  1. From the Personas dashboard
  2. Click the copy icon next to your persona
  3. Paste the URL in your browser

Your persona URL format:

https://app.myclone.is/your-username/your-persona-name

Example:

https://app.myclone.is/johndoe/sales-assistant
https://app.myclone.is/viggy28/support

💡 Tip: Share this URL with team members or beta testers to get feedback before making it public.

Step 2: Choose Your Chat Mode

Your persona supports two interaction modes:

Voice Mode (Default)

  • 🎤 Talk naturally to your persona
  • Real-time voice conversation
  • Hands-free interaction
  • Great for demos and testing conversational flow

Text Mode

  • ⌨️ Type messages to your persona
  • Traditional chat interface
  • Better for complex questions or when in quiet environments
  • Toggle between voice and text anytime

To switch modes:

  • Click the voice/text toggle button in the chat interface
  • Your preference is saved for future sessions

Step 3: Start Your Conversation

Begin chatting with your persona to test its responses:

Example conversation from video:

You: “Hey, I’m Vignesh Ravichandran, founder. How can I help you today?”

Persona: “Hey Vignesh, I’m currently giving a demo of MyClone.”

You: “How’s the demo going so far?”

Persona: [Responds based on knowledge and context]

  • Start with simple greetings to test conversational flow
  • Ask questions relevant to your persona’s purpose
  • Test edge cases (unclear questions, off-topic requests)
  • Verify the persona stays in character

    • Professional document layout
    • Best for sharing with stakeholders
    • Preserves formatting and structure
  2. Text Format (.txt)

    • Plain text transcription
    • Easy to copy/paste
    • Compatible with any text editor
  3. Markdown Format (.md)

    • Structured format with headings
    • Great for documentation
    • Easy to convert to other formats

How to download:

  1. Complete your conversation
  2. Look for the “Download” or transcript icon button
  3. Select your preferred format (PDF, Text, or Markdown)
  4. File downloads automatically
  5. Review or share as needed

Attach Files During Conversation

Share visual context or documents with your persona during chat.

Supported file types:

  • 📷 Images - Screenshots, photos, diagrams (JPG, PNG, GIF)
  • 📄 PDFs - Documents, reports, presentations
  • 📝 Text files - Additional context documents

How to attach files:

  1. During your conversation, look for the attachment icon (📎)
  2. Click to open file picker
  3. Select your file(s)
  4. Files upload and appear in the chat
  5. Your persona can reference the content

  • Attach a product screenshot during a support conversation
  • Share a PDF document for context in business discussions
  • Upload images for visual reference

Having Effective Conversations

Ask Clear Questions

Better:

  • “What’s your framework for pricing a SaaS product?”
  • “How do I overcome imposter syndrome as a founder?”

Less Effective:

  • “Tell me about business”
  • “What should I do?”

Provide Context

Help your persona understand:

"I'm launching a B2B SaaS product targeting mid-market companies.
We have 10 beta users. How should I structure our pricing?"

Follow Up

Continue the conversation:

  1. Ask clarifying questions
  2. Request specific examples
  3. Dig deeper into topics
  4. Challenge assumptions

Evaluating Responses

Check for Accuracy

Does the response:

  • ✅ Align with your knowledge?
  • ✅ Sound like you?
  • ✅ Provide helpful information?
  • ✅ Stay on topic?

Assess Quality

Is the response:

  • ✅ Clear and understandable?
  • ✅ Actionable and practical?
  • ✅ Appropriately detailed?
  • ✅ Consistent with your style?

Monitor Consistency

Over multiple chats:

  • ✅ Maintains your perspective
  • ✅ Doesn’t contradict itself

  • ✅ Provides coherent answers

Improving Responses

If Responses Are Off

  1. Add more training data on that topic
  2. Provide examples of how you’d answer
  3. Refine your knowledge base
  4. Give explicit instructions in your bio
